Halloween 3 Movie in 2011

Sounds like the studios are still determined to develop one more Halloween movie. An official release date has indeed been announced for the movie Halloween 3: the film is scheduled for a release on October 26, 2011. Rob Zombie's Halloween 2kind of disappointed the fans, but the film did gross $39 million worldwide for a $15 million budget. So the project was profitable and one can understand why the the studios feel like yet a new sequel to Halloween is worth a shot.

From what I heard Halloween 3 will be directed by Patrick Lussier (who brought us My Bloody Valentine 3D). But the cast hasn't been confirmed yet.

Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer have co-wrote the script. The plot would reportedly pick up after the events of Rob Zombie's Halloween II, and would follow Laurie Strode in a mental hospital.

The film will most likely be released in 3D, the marketing team must have been pushing hard for it: easier to promote Halloween 3D than just Halloween 3.
